The Beit Hayeled (the Child’s House) Elementary School served approximately 500 students from Talbiya, Rechavia and surrounding neighborhoods. The Jerusalem Foundation created a public library branch in an existing classroom at the school in 1986 in memory of Eli’ahu Mani, who was killed in the Irgun bombing of the nearby King David Hotel in 1946. It supported creation of the school’s first computer laboratory in 1989. The school was incorporated into the Charles E. Smith High School for the Arts complex in 1992.

The Charles E. Smith School for the Arts was founded in 1984 and began its way in the Musrara neighborhood community center and was attended by approximately 90 students.

Over the years the school has grown and expanded to approximately 620 students, and 140 staff members; In 2020 the school moved to its new home near the Inbal Hotel. The school is characterized by spaces adapted to the variety of trends taught in its area, and now also includes children with special needs programs.

Located on Sderot Shai Agnon 24, Jerusalem, JAIS of Jerusalem is part of the JAIS main campus centrally located just North of Tel Aviv.  

Of this School Tiffany Ben Ari writes, “I love this school! The teachers and staff go above and beyond giving individual attention, and differentiation. My child has thrived here. This is truly an oasis in the desert.”

Tali.org is a network of non-orthodox school that offer religious eduction. One such school is located in the Ramat Moriyah section of East Talpiot, TALI is a Hebrew acronym for Intensified Jewish Studies Curriculum. The TALI schools comprise an educational track within Israel’s secular school system that offers non-Orthodox religious education and programming. There are several TALI schools in Jerusalem, including one in the Ramat Moriyah section of East Talpiot that serves the entire East Talpiot neighborhood.
